Getting back into the proverbial filigree saddle
I’ve been doing filigree and stone cutting since around 1989, but I’m a bit of a jack of all trades. In addition to silversmithing and lapidary work, I also do jewelry photography. Over the last few years, my focus has been more on the lapidary and photography, as it was just easier to pay the bills. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy the lapidary and am good at photography, but I’m working on getting back into the filigree saddle again, so I’m starting with redoing my website for the first time in years.
My book, Silver Threads: Making Wire Filigree Jewelry, has been out of print for a while, but I’m working on making it available as print-on-demand and as an ebook. I also plan to do a sequel soon. Luckily, I spent 10 years setting up textbooks on computers in Norway, so have some basic book production/desktop publishing skills such that I will probably self-publish.
