I’ve been doing quite a bit of jewelry photography lately, and have started getting work doing it for other local artists, so now, I’m making this service available to anyone who needs it done. Please check out the jewelry photography page for prices and examples of my work.

I posted a demo on youtube, in three parts, showing how I created a larimar filigree pendant.

As you can see, this is not wire wrapping, but actual soldered work. This piece was relatively simple compared to many of my pieces.

Those of you who are interested in learning this technique, check out my book: Silver Threads, Making Wire Filigree Jewelry

This rare agate, now unavailable as new stock, was once found in the China Lake region of Death Valley, California. China Lake Military Base is now where this beautiful agate was once found, so any of this material you see today is from old stock, mined most likely decades ago.

I was lucky enough to aquire about a one pound chunk of this agate, with beautiful plumage in reds and gold with a touch of white and black mixed in. I’ve recently begun setting some of the first cabs I’ve cut of this material, one of which is on the opening page, another can be seen below:

I just finished cutting several more cabs of this beautiful, rare material and will be setting these stones soon. They’ll only last so long….as once they are gone, material of this quality may not fall into my lap again for a long time!

I recently began doing jewelry photography for a couple of local jewelers…but I just recently took the time to redo my own. I’m still in the process of editing the last few. I hope to have it all updated by this coming weekend (beginning of April).I’ll be adding a size listing for each item, as my jewelry is not photographed to scale, but photographed for detail.

If you or someone you know is interested in jewelry photography, please feel free to contact me regarding rates.

I’m in the process of redoing my studio so I will have room to start giving classes. To start with, I plan to do one day workshops about once a month. If that goes well, I’ll look into longer classes. If you are interested in classes, please use my contact form to send me a message with your contact information.

Due to a very annoying hack attack, I’ve had to reinstall my wordpress and start over with my blog. Hopefully, the reinstall will plug up the security hole!
